Change

I’m fairly wary of treading into the political arena, but yesterday I had a vision that continues to burden me. As I prayed briefly for the elections down south, I had a picture pop into my mind:

I saw prairie grass but this grass was burnt black. In the middle was a kidney shaped patch of unburned brown grass (the colour grass turns in the north in the winter).

I do not offer a definitive interpretation, but I do offer some thoughts. For the black burnt grass, I sense evil, darkness, death and a burden of grief. The brown remnant – dormant, dead in a sense but perhaps capable of being brought to life? Also consider 1 Peter 1 v24 “For all men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall”.

Possibly related is my continuing and deepening sense of unease about this word that is currently being bandied about: “change”. The thing is – change, yes – but to what end?

It seems as if there are those captivated with style over substance, to whom such a word connects with a feeling that things are not right (with which I would agree). But rather than enquire more deeply, they are satisfied with the slogan and the emotion attached to it.

Do we know where we are going? Not all change is for the good.

My prayers were for God not to bring this judgment upon us. He had other ideas, and so we will just have to wait and see what He has in mind. Israel had many instances of warning chastisement before the final Diaspora. God’s will, not mine, but I hope this will be one of those warnings.

  2. “You have said ;”It is vain to serve God, and what profit is it that we have kept His charge?….and that we have walked in mourning before the Lord of Hosts?”…..”so now, “WE”…[the Church] call the arrogant “blessed”…[The neo=faith word prosperity gospels..The NAR crowd….the professional prophets…]…”Not only are the doers of wickedness built up…but they also test God…and escape!”…Mal:3-vs. 14-15

    “IN MOURNING..”…KJV…..”MOURNFULLY”..original….”blackish ones”……”COVERED IN ASHES”…..

We are in a famine…a famine of the living prescense of God Himself. The true, remnant Church has been put to death….planted…sewn into the Earth… [ Hosea Chpter 2:…..vs. 14 on….] for God’s purposes. I call these the “burnt out ones…and they all have one characteristic….they are all grieved at the desolation…both in society…but especially the Church.

This is my view of your vision…the “patch of Brown..” Everything is gone around her…destroyed..and especially the Church we once knew…but there is still life in her…maybe not enough to especially notice for now…but she survived the great falling away……..Which is what is happening as we speak..In the Church, and in the World. America no longer is a Jesus based country…and is a wasteland. The patch of brown is what is left.

These will become God’s treasure…His “Segullah”…His own treasured possession.

Isaiah 6..vs:13…Yet there will be a tenth portion in it, and it will again be subject to burning, like a terebinth, or an oak whosestump remains when it is felled.”THE HOLY SEED IS IT’S STUMP.”

I like your ideas about community. I lived communally for about 5 years…and it strengthened me. The church is not the meeting. The meeting follows the Church. The Church is not controlled by a man…usually the Pastor..a totally unscriptural idea. The young and weak have as much honor as the schooled and strong…and God set them there so that Mercy and Love would be the rule, rather than prosperity and controlled order.

The Shepherds should never be paid, or supported. They should serve as they work to earn there own bread, and should support the weak themselves. Without Godly shepherds, though…the Church will perish…like the big field of ash you saw.

This is why so many have perished. Acts 20…unGodly Shepherds.

  3. Peter says:

Thanks Tregonsee and Tom for your comments. I look forward to see what God will do with those not yet ‘burnt’. Kyrie Eleison.

  4. buttermilk80 says:

All is Christ! And all will bow! Should we only accept good from the hand of our Maker? Should we not also seek His Glory? If this place was made to Glorify the Son of Man, shouldn’t we who are blessed to live also share in His way?

Blessed are those who hold fast to My words. Hold fast, then, and do not loose the fingers of faith. All who call upon the name of the Lord and who do what He says will suffer persecution. And in the age to come, will inherit eternal life. If they cricified the Son of Man, will they accept His children?

    By His Grace.
